The Media Club meet each week to create newspapers, documentaries and radio programmes for the rest of the school. They cover many events that take place in school and below you will find more information about the different forms of media they produce as well as their current and previous productions.
Each term, the students hunt down the news from across the school to create a newspaper full of stories, features and quizzes. They report on sporting events that have taken place during the term and there is always a recipe for readers to try during the holidays. As part of Media Club, students produce their own regular show. The programmes include news from in and out of school, requests and shout out as well as interviews and discussions on topics our students are interested in. And of course, a radio show isn't complete without music, so there are plenty songs to accompany the chat. LiveWyre Radio is uploaded to Mixcloud and can be accessed via the Internet. Students at Saint Aidan's have been producing video news reports for many years as part of the BBC News School Report scheme and this has now developed into creating videos for different purposes. Students have been commissioned to create a film about the English department for new students' parents as well as reporting on Sports Day and creating special reports on major events in school, such as Saint Aidan's Has Got Talent. Below are several of the videos that the Media Club has created.
