Music Magic!

By

On 22nd and 23rd January 2025 we were delighted to host two music concerts in the Hall.  The first showcased the talented musicians we have in Years 7-9; the second night was the stage for our Year 10 and 11 musicians to shine.  Both concerts were well attended by family and friends to give our students the full ‘performance experience’.  Both events were brilliantly choreographed by Mr Dalton.

Mr Dalton commented: “As Head of Music at Saint Aidan’s, I couldn’t be prouder of the students who took part in our recent concerts. Both evenings were a testament to their hard work, commitment, and passion for music. Our Key Stage 3 students impressed us with their enthusiasm and developing musicianship, while the Key Stage 4 performers demonstrated remarkable confidence and technical ability. It was fantastic to see so many students challenging themselves and supporting one another on stage.

These concerts not only showcased individual talent but also highlighted the strong sense of community within our music department. The energy and excitement from both performers and the audience created a wonderful atmosphere, and I am grateful to all the staff, families, and friends who came to support the students. Moments like these remind us why music is such a vital part of school life, and I look forward to seeing our students continue to grow as musicians.”

Headteacher, Andy Smith commented, “I was lucky enough to be at the Key Stage 3 concert, where our emerging talents were performing.  I was so proud to see the enthusiasm and skill on offer.  Our Music Department provided a great environment for them to perform in, with professional standard sound and a high level of organisation which made the evening run really smoothly.

I’m grateful to Mr Dalton and his team, to the parents and families who provided excellent support, and most of all to our students who entertained us so wonderfully on the two evenings.”
