Several weeks ago, Hive Arts in Blackpool contacted Mr Elwell to offer Saint Aidan’s students the opportunity to exhibit their work in their gallery. This is the first time they have offered their space to a school and we are proud to be the first!
The (mostly GCSE) work was selected over the course of a week before being taken to the gallery where it was hung by the staff there. The response from visitors has been overwhelming and the visitors’ book includes wonderful comments from parents, past students, locals and people visiting Blackpool from further afield.
It was fantastic to see how proud our students were to see their work up on the wall, as well as allowing a much wider audience to see the quality work they deliver. There are more exciting creative opportunities ahead but hopefully this is a partnership we can repeat with a different group next year.
