Massive Macmillan Morning!

By

On Friday 7th October Saint Aidan’s hosted a Macmillan Coffee Morning. This event was hosted by our Make A Difference (MAD) group.

The coffee morning consisted of many cakes, kindly donated by students and staff, and sweets sold along side hot and cold drinks. Many activities were available to play on the day such as ‘guess how many chocolate chips are in the cookie’ and ‘throw the coffee bean into a jar’.  We also ran a photo booth so students could have a memento of the day! Evie Lawrenson, Year 7, made and sold inclusive loom band bracelets and keyrings which were beautiful!

The day allowed students from years 7, 8 and 9 to come out of lessons for 20 minutes and enjoy the activities provided and buy lots of cakes and sweets to eat.

This fantastic day raised £816.16 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Many students and teachers were very touched by this day, as cancer sadly affects so many of us.

I was personally touched by this coffee morning as my Auntie recently got diagnosed with cancer. It was really special to raise so much money for a charity that helps so many!
